Solved Is this part of forumotions ADS, or what is it....

Post by tozol May 1st 2009, 11:43 pm

Ok , I have had my forums going for a few months now, which are tied into my weekly gaming podcast.

Now I arrive on there tonight to make a post for my show archive, and when I have finished making the post I notice the very infuriating type of ad, the ones when you hover over particular words to then have a pop up of some ad.

If you just go to my forums Here
you will see the Ads I'm talking about.

So like I say they have appeared tonight, so simply question as a newish forum user, are these part of the Ads that forumotion use, or is it happening because of something else.??
Do these fall into the category of, if I pay for credits I can remove them??.

I just need answers as to why these have appeared and what can I do about it.

thanks for any help.

Are you talking about the banner ads under your forum's banner?

Nope I cant actually see them, only a big space, I was going to mention that, but I was more concerned with the pop up word ads, and if they can be stopped.

Oh, well, by 'pop up word ads', do you mean when you hover your mouse cursor over a word in a post, and a small popu-up screen appears showing the definition of that word (or something in that nature)?

If so, then try this :
  1. Administration Panel
  2. General tab
  3. Forum -- Configuration
  4. Text ads activation (underlined) : No

Hmm, I think that is what that option is used for, but I'm not highly sure.
