How can I stop lurkers looking into the chat box, if you open it in a separate page and book mark it you can log in and lurk ?? ei; you dont ave to be a member to read members messages etc....

However I feel that the built in one should be able to be made private for members only who have logged in

The chatbox cant be made privite. You can Google chatbox and post them in a section which only certain members have access to.

you can make a group and a chat box and a forum too

in taht group make that hidden group and add the members you wnat private chat

and for the forum permisions don't allow others to view the forums

and post the chatbox in the forum
