Multiple probs with admin panel
I think this is the correct place to post this.
Could someone please assist me?
The problem I have is this:
1:
When there was that problem about a month or two ago, where the forums were not accessable for some reason. When we got them back, I had TWO Pack Dens!!! so I renamed the "new" den and called it Pack Den Too... anyway I let it be cause I was afraid other problems might arise if I messed with it. lol
The Pack Den is pretty much the same as General Discussion.
I just discovered that it can be posted to and would like to merge the two into one.
I have tried to do it and am unable to ....I have tried multiple times. I believe I am doing something wrong to accomplish this.
2:
Also, i forgot how to change the "help" button to send requests to admin or send them to whatever the other choice is, i think it was host admin or something like that.
3:
I would like to know more about the templates, I would like to have the PM button for members on each post instead of only on profiles etc. But am not familiar enough with the procedure to correct the problem and am also scared I may mess something up.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Reddpaw

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
1. To merge two topics to one you will need to go all the way down till you see buttions that have Delete, Garbage, Move, Lock, Split, and Merge. Click on Merge>>Then click on Select>>Then on the Top Right that has a white Box that says that section you are in>>Click the Drop down box and click on the section that topic is>>Once you go to that section look for that topic. Click on the left of the topic with a circle>>Once you selected that topic go all the way down till you see Select>>Then it should be merge together.
2. What Help Button?
3. Its already done. All you need to do is on a post go to a profile and look for the PM button and start sending PM's

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
I think she means the help button at the bottom of ever ADMIN PANEL page. The little forumotion dude holding the sign.
Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
well, actually, I was speaking of the setting for the forum where you decide where members send their requests for help.
Oh, and another question. what the "warning level" mean.???

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
Well there really isn't any features that are requesting for help.
Warning levels on this forum helps staff know what action to take and how many times this member is about to get banned. We use the comment box to imput the reminders/warning so that it helps us move faster when modding members.

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
Hello,
im sorry about the delay in responses' most of us that usually help out are taking a break right now.
There is a way to "unmerge" a topic; which is the "split" button - it means you have to tick the boxes on the top right hand corner of the post u want to split

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
Yes, I know about that, but the problem is when I merged topics, I LOST some pages.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
Are you sure you lost the pages?
Check other similar threads to see if u merged the wrong threads together.

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
actually, i found it farther down in the same category.
I am attemping to merge the rest of it to other thread now.
UPDATE EDIT:
I tried to merge as I said above. I get everything to look fine during the Merge process. but when I go back to look at it in forum, it is not.
I think it may be one is sticky and other is not. how do I "UNSTICKY" after its already done?

To unsticky a thread; Edit the 1st post (the thread starter) and open the "OPTIONS" box, and click "normal" (as opposed to sticky and announcement) Then send the message as normal

Re: Multiple probs with admin panel
thanks, I will try it now...
UPDATE EDIT:
this is really strange, it once again goes thru the motions, but all it does is lock the previous thread and change the name of the topic I wish to merge with.
Thanks,
Redd
