Variables can be added in the following: Site description, Homepage message, Topics, Posts, Birthday message subject, Birthday message, Newsletters, Signatures, Welcome message, Private Messages
Here is a list with all the variables that you can use on Forumotion forums:

If you chain them and add text to complete them with a little imagination you can create a nice welcoming message for your members and/or your forums statistics.
Note: You can also see a list of these codes in the Administration panel on your forum by going to Admin Panel=> General=> Forum=> Configuration and clicking on the asterisk next to the "Site Description" field.
