Is there a way you can set it up so that guest can read and write post, and only certain groups on my forum can anser back... Im not wanting just any member to be able to answer back, just one of my groups...

You'll have to do advanced permissions Wink

I did that, and it keeps taking it away from guest when I remove the members..

what its doing evertime I check it for guest, and then I uncheck the members, it unchecks the guest with it... I have never really been able to do anything just for guest unless I have the members included.. I have been trying to find away around this since I joined the forum 5 months ago

you have to put all of your members in a group.
i always do this i have a group just called members. when you have them in a group then you can set permissions that way. and also mass pm all members and a few other things.

so i don't know how many members you have. but if you have a few staff member just add them all to the group lil by lil and you'll have them all in there in no time. then when you get a new member be sure to add them in there too. you can do it all right by the members list and groups nav bar.
just have two tabs open. one for each and go back and forth, it's easy just takes a lil time.

oh create the group first though... lol if you decide to do it. but thats the only way.

yea but see it should matter if the members are checked off as guest now because you have your members in a group so they will have the permissions of the group. if your permissions are not set for that group then any member in that group they will not be able to do anything. {depending what permissions you have set} so in a sense it's like your members permissions are just the same as the guest. but there are no members because there all in the group now.

understand? you just have to make sure any new register member get to put to the group.

so another words you have them in the group and have them permissions set thats the only permissions they will have.... lol
i know it's confusing and i wish forumotion would change that. it can be annoying and we do get a lot of people asking about why they can not just select guest and without clicking the members too. i think we need to bring it to the suggestions board for next update.
