True, they probably managed to weasel in not having to pay for stuff that is lost. No matter, there will just be numerous warnings issued about this hosting service in many places, and then they'll possibly lose a LOT of members. That is, unless they're willing to be mature about all this and restore what rightfully belongs to us.

Oh shiz. If a site wasn't even found by the admins, I'm definitely taking all my progress and finding another host. This place apparently is far too unstable to be a proper host. Tch, and to think I trust this place. Yeah, I'd better get my stuff back otherwise there will be H3LL to pay.
I apologize for my anger, but I will NOT just let my stuff be lost without proper compensation. It's either I get it all back in one piece or they won't be hearing the last of me.

And what is it you plan to do? They provide a free service to you and something goes wrong and they lose the data. On what grounds do you think you can do anything?

If everyones sites are lost, there is no way anyone would bother hosting here again.

Do you not know that whatever a person posts online belongs to them by US law if they are a US citizen? I believe I've plenty of ground to take action if I do not get back my work, regardless of their free service.

At least Im glad to see that my clan's forums are not the only one's affect. Im sorry to everyone else who is having the same issues as I am. My forums were working last night, but not when I woke up this morning. Im sure that Forumotion will have them up and running again very soon.

Are you a lawyer now? If so, please cite specifics in your assertion that you think you own everything you post online belongs to you. No one would ever provide a free service if they were liable for data loss....

If they can get it back to you I am sure they will. It's not like they are some kid who won't give the other one his ball back.... after all, they still have your data, even if you do too.

When said problem is restored, do those same people rejoice and say "Sorry for acting like a rude spoiled brat"

Sadly, this is life, your computer goes to the craps, do you suddenly sue best buy or w/e because you have a document on it, which you typed up.

Even if it is worth money, or has sentimental value, are you really willing to go through the law process, wait two to three years *yes YEARS, Supreme Court in New York just heard a case that was from 1995 dealing with Intellectual Property, so you will wait YEARS to have your case heard*

If you are, I pity you, for instead of complaining about your precious forum, hosted by a free service, that has gone down perhaps once every six months... you could be donating your time and energy to a food kitchen, or homeless shelter, actually making a difference, not sitting here whining about how the internet runs your life

I for one say, FM take your time, do it right, and fix the problem so it doesn't appear again, if that takes days, so be it, the sun will come up tomorrow, just like it did the past couple of billion years, I'm not terrible worried that it won't come up tomorrow.

My forums were working last night, but not when I woke up this morning. Im sure that Forumotion will have them up and running again very soon.

That is my case as well. I worked on my site til about 1:15 am cst, but at 7:15 am cst, it was gone. One of my friend's forums has disappeared but my other friend's remains.
I am hoping the administration is working on the problem diligently as we type.

Ya know, to those complaining about our forums down, we've every right. Regardless of their free service, we placed trust in them, and they're letting me down slowly. And from what I hear, this isn't the first time they've done this.
If they don't like this, nor do the likes of you who complain about people like I, then perhaps they shouldn't be so irresponsible.
