Widgets not showing up in my portal?

Why wont my widgets who up on my portal?

I'm not much experienced in portals, but try:
[*] Administration Panel
[*] Modules tab
[*] Forum widgets management
[*] Display forum widgets : Yes
[*] Save[/list]
I'm not sure if that would work for the portal, but try it.

i just logged out now i see them but its all messed up and it has parts of my homepage on the portal this is i guess i need help on how do i keep the widgets there but the homepage not on the portal look at homepage u will see the homepage also on the portal i dont like that hope you could help me sanket...! thank you
