ShoutMix/ShoutBox Login Empty ShoutMix/ShoutBox Login

Post by JayK-47 July 27th 2009, 5:10 pm

I recently purchased and installed shoutmix chatbox for my forum but I am facing one major problem. The shoutmix has its own login form and is mistaken for the forum's login form and so many users just sign up for the chatbox and not for the forum. I would like to know if its possible and if it is how do I.
1. Link the forums login to the chatbox eliminating the chatbox's login form.
-or-
2. Disable the chatbox until the user has been logged in to the forum.

You can add the chatbox to a portal widget that it only appears to members. Can I see the chatbox code?

</iframe>
</center>
<!-- End ShoutMix -->

i would create a forum and add in as a description or use an exsiting forum you have and add to the description.. this way you can have the forums permissions set for members and you would have to be a register member to see the forum/chat box.

here's an example over here. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the chat box in my discussions forum description. now i have this open to guest. but if you have the permissions set for members or groups then you will have to be logged into the forum to see. i also say that use of that chat box will require a separate registration.

so just a suggestion for you. hope that helps a lil.
thanks

Thanks for the great idea ill make the changes later and see how it works out.
Is there no way though to edit the source code and make the chatbox login unnecessary?
