Different Widgets for Portal and Home page?

well i want to ask that, could i have two very different widgets but with the same name for portal and home page?
actually the widget is the same but its with different dimension

Yes you could. Different dimension, well you can set the width differently.

Add the widgets in Portal Management as well as Forum widgets management.

i set it but after setting when i showed the widget at home page in the 3rd column, it didnt apear, and the dimenstions of the portal page,s widget in the 3rd columns had changed.
the other problem is in the home page's widgets are not showing in the 3rd column( extreme right)

Did you set this
Modules>Forum widgets management
Width column 3 (right) :180

The widget widths of the portal can be changed by changing the structure, change the % there.

ok, its showing now, but same problem, when i m changing the dimenstion of home page's widget the portal page's widget also change.... how to stop this?

Go & change it here
Modules>Forum widgets management
Width column 3 (right) :180

Then reply back to me, i will check it.

yea i have done it, check that out. after checking tell me, i will then change dimension of home page's widget and you will see both widgets changed

The forum widget is still the same, it has not turned to 180.

Now can you turn off the portal. Lets see if the forum widget size changes or not.

so there is the problem, i changed dimenstions at the forum widget management and then went to portal>structure>modify widget and the dimension there alse changed automatically.
need to stop this! is it because both are in the same column? let me change the column of the portal widget.
so can i turn it on now?

nop, its not working, i changed the column but yet when i change the dimension of one the other one changes automatically
please help me with this, its really annoying me
