Solved Announcements?

in the general tab there is messages and emails and in that is Announcements.
i want to know what is the use for these? and how will they look on the forum and whats the best use for those?

Just a long strip placed on the forum, located between the nav bar and the topics/forums. Use them for anything, but mainly for "announcements".

so in the create an announcements i just write simple text with some links and it will show there as it is?
