Re: Another blinking question
Hello.
The only way to make the button blink is to make it an animated GIF. But the downfall is that this format doesn't support gradual transparency and so, your button becomes pixelated on the edges and ugly on the shadow when converted to GIF.
There's a format with a better-quality animation, the MNG format, but not all browsers support this format natively.
And then, you have a last choice : Flash animation. But the downfall is the major accessibility issues because of this weight (much heavier than simple images, even animated GIFs), the fact that it requires a plugin to read it (so, exit those who don't have the plugin, and the blind people who only see a "big block" for which they don't see the content, and it's even worse when used for parts as vital as navigation menus).
So, whatever the choice, you'll have inconvenients :
- Keep it in PNG : No animation - But you can have the text color changed if the person kept the source file (PSD if he uses photoshop, XCF if he uses Gimp)
- Animated GIF : Poor quality
- MNG : Not fully supported
- Flash : Accessibility issues
