Topic is being watched defualt
Is there some where that you set the default for the "topic is being watched" tab in members profile? Every topic that members post in are automatically being added to their "topic is being watched" list instead of just topics they want to watch. I tried searching the FAQ as well as an internet search and could not find any answer so I figured I would post. As far as I can tell it doesn't seem to happen to all members just some. I looked in the profile settings and can't seem to find any settings there that would apply.

Re: Topic is being watched defualt
There is no way for you as an admin to prevent users from doing this.
For the members affected by this fatal glitch then I suggest that you tell them to hit the "Watch this topic for replies" button once and it should come up to a new page saying "You are no-longer watching this topic", if the user receives this, then the watching topic information has been reset.
The user can also edit their messages and where is says "Options" They go in there and un-tick the "Watch this topic for replies" box Then hit the send button.

I logged in as a user and will post a screen shot of a reply. There is no box to check/uncheck to watch topics.

The box I am referring to is the one that says "Notify me of when a reply is made"
However that appears to be non-ticked
Can you please provide the link of your forum?
Do you mind if I register under "darren1" and assess this further by first hand for myself?

Re: Topic is being watched defualt
Ok, I think I have it figured out. I had to make a post and select the "notify me when a reply is posted" then make another post with it unchecked and it does not seem to be adding them to my "watch a topic" list anymore. Thank you for your help Darren1.
