I believe that the subdomain that you originally used to access your forum is still under your control, even though you have a new domain name.
Example: Subdomain with the custom domain working => Custom domain alone
As you can see you can access the forum via both the original subdomain & the custom domain.

That's exactly my point.

Both the subdomain, and the custom domain still lead to the same point, showing that you can still access your forum from both the subdomain and your purchased custom domain.

Nopes, that way its not possible you can create html pages which would come in this format.
.xyz.com/abc-h1.htm
