A solution found for the servers!

First topic message reminder :

Dear users,


We have had for some time, downtime and slowdown due mainly to a new provider for our servers. This service, that we had been advised by top IBM engineers, was meant to optimize and anticipate the traffic increase on your forums and our servers.

We bitterly regret that provider choice which currently and after several days of research and development, was unable to provide a stable solution.
Therefore, we decided to leave the service to join back to our previous provider. This change will take place within hours and we are confident about the result.
These new servers are ultra-efficient and will provide you with what we've promised : faster forums, more efficient, 99,9% uptime and enhanced security for your data.

During this migration, your forums will suffer delays. Do not worry, your forums do not risk anything, this maneuver is controlled and your forums should regain their vitality very quickly.

We are still sorry for the inconvenience caused, we fully understand the bitterness generated by such issues.
Therefore, as soon as the stabilization of your forums on the new servers will be established, we will make a gift to all our users and forums. o)

A note for users with blank page (Error 500) and users that have customized templates :

Simply go to http://yourforumaddress.com/admin and browse through Display > templates > and browse all templates categories where you've got customized templates WITHOUT touching them, and it will simply be fixed.

For all other users that had customized templates, you can now use them freely again.

My forum is not gliching any more but it is still going very slow and i had to Make every one make ther acounts again other than mine

When can we expect to get credits back from the storage that we purchased??

It won't let me SEE the credits thing... I click on the button "Use my credits" And it does nothing...

Sorry if I sound rude but, if the first server was a cause of all the delays et al why go back to them when the new server didn't live up to expectations?

Sounds like we are going backwards instead of forward.

AS someone who deals with web hosting/servers, I can advise you that you really need to clean up all your dead forums. In that I mean forums with no traffic.

"no traffic???" what do you mean??? I think you might be right with your opinion of servers. Why go back to the old server? Although the new server might actually be worse than the old, so it could go either way. We'll just have to see which one actually IS better, which the top guys can tell us.

He means no traffic as in no one going to the forum.

Were going to brand new servers with double the power as the old ones, but with the origonal host!

No, no more disruptions as I believe

Weve moved back to the old host & the new servers already, which was the cause of recent down times.

We are done with moving servers we are at the new severs.

It can get worse, the servers can crash and become un-stable

The update was planned for after the server upgrade I believe but the server plan crashed and has taken longer than expected to fix.
The technician's are fixing the problems caused by the server migration, then and only then when they ahve fixed those bugs the they will release the update.
I believe (By reading the French Support Forum) the update is planned for 2 weeks time.

Please be patient they can only do so much work in 1 day.

I know that but do you know how many day they have had! We already know that the servers are done being moved because MrMario said so. Two weeks goes into November. That's great! Yeah hold it off for 2 months now! Way to go Forumotion (I'm being Sarcastic)

Forumotion is doing some little over view of the updates to see if there is any new bugs/glitches that needs fixing cause they want these updates to be bug free and from what Typlo is telling us they are going to release them real quick.

My forum was down for well over an hour this morning, any reason why this is?

Beats me. Thanks guys for the info on the servers. When Mr.Mario wrote that they can only do so much in one day he was right. It probably isn't the easiest thing to change servers and all that.

on my site member's are experiencing white pages still and having troubles logging in. along with having troubles posting yet. with the white pages they shouldn't have to hit refresh everytime. please fix this.

The only ones that can tell us that will be the tech guys and they Don't come on here so the only other one will be typlo but as the tests are going on with some of the sites members and staff by the looks of it we will not get no more info until the tests and run down has been made

Im sure it will be really soon as the staff here have said really soon

I just Hope the updates are as good as they say they are and No Silly little bugs To them that will take to long to fix i think i can Hold on Fro them to do all the tests to make sure it all working !00% before they set it loose on the main site.

Jalokim, RoNo, Kirk, I, and Beno are reporting to Typlo to give him a list of bugs but so far these test are going good , we haven't found anything that is a bucket full like the last update.
