Accepting Members

I have my new forum as a locked forum, but it seems members can accpet themselfs when they join??

What the message they are getting when they try to register?

Zoids, opposite end of the scale, the members are activating themselves rather than no being able to register

Shell, Can you go to: Admin panel >> Users & Groups ( Tab ) >> User options > activation = what does it say?
If it's selected on "Automatic" it means that users don't need to verify and can login straight away, and start posting immediately after logging in.
