Hiding posts from subforum from Latest Topic

Hi all,

Is there a way to hide posts from a particular forum from the latest topic?

We have a buy and sell forum and we do not want it to show up on the latest topic.

Is there anyway we can do that?

If there isn't, have anybody coded the a forum widget before to display latest topic? If I have the codes, I might be able to work on it.

Just one question, do those posts have any significance if they are shown?

we do not want the trading/buy and sell posts to dominate other discussions. And thus we do not want them to show up on the latest topics widget.

That would also prevent people from bumping the threads unnecessarily.

you can hide the forum it may be posted on by the forums permissions.
but the only way for it not to show up as latest topics in the widget would be to remove the widget. you either have it or you dont.

i just want to filter thread from a category but still want to show threads from other categories on the widget "latest topic".

how can i do that?

And how do you set the permission? Isn't it just members, moderators or admins? Or does it go by groups?

I have the same problem here.
