Re: Rounded Chocolate Ranks
Looking better. Here are some more basic ways to make them look better.
Add gloss:
>Select the rounded rectangle
>Change the foreground color to white
>Select the Blend tool
--->Set the gradient to "FG to Transparent"
>Layer
--->New Layer (Leave as the default)
------>Click OK
>Draw a straight line with the blend tool about half way down the image
--->Set the opacity to 70%
Inset Text:
>Select the Text Tool
--->Write the name of the rank
------>Color: white
>Layer
--->Duplicate Layer
>Using the text tool
--->Change the bottom of the three text layers to black
------>Set the opacity to 40%
--->Change the second of the three text layers to white
------>Set the opacity to 40%
>Select the Move Tool
--->Move the black text layer up 1 pixel
--->Move the white text layer down 1 pixel
(This is more time consuming for these ranks but makes them look a little but nicer.)
Hope this helps and saves time looking for tutorials.

Re: Rounded Chocolate Ranks
Interesting design... Havent seen that one before...
I don't think it should be used as ranks ( text doesnt fit on ), but if you could make a forum template ( skin ) with it, it would be EPIC...

Re: Rounded Chocolate Ranks
Well, when making a skin, you need to create background, buttons, icons, its generally much more work than ranks, but when you see someone using YOUR skin for their forum - must be priceless.
