Changing REP buttons Empty Changing REP buttons

I tried the tutorial for changing the REPUTATION buttons (+ & -) but when i did all the stuffs , all the topics text become a link (a link of rep+) . Using PHPbb2 .Is there any other way to change the reputation buttons (with images for example) or if not will we be able soon to change it easly from AP ?
