Solved need code to randomize music

Post by TheChairman December 8th 2009, 10:35 pm

After reading about 6 pages of threads about music I feel terrible making a new one.
But I just couldn't find a section that might help me.

I have music on my forums, and it works great.
But The problem is, while it goes from song to song if someone sits there long enough, as they move around pages and refresh, it starts over. But always at the same song.

I was curious if someone could take a look at my code and see what I might be able to add.
I've tried a bunch of stuff with no luck so far.

Code:

<img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNTkxODMxOTg*NDImcHQ9MTI1OTE4MzIwNjA4MyZwPTE4MDMxJmQ9Jmc9MSZvPTIzZDQzNmEyOTA3NDQwZDA4NGM1ZGFhNjI3MGZhZjcx.gif" /><center><p style="visibility:visible;"><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://assets.myflashfetish.com/swf/mp3/mff-stick.swf" height="35" width="219" style="width:219px;height:35px"><param name="movie" value="http://assets.myflashfetish.com/swf/mp3/mff-stick.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="scale" value="noscale" /><param name="salign" value="TL" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent"/><param name="flashvars" value="myid=37459171&path=2009/12/08&mycolor=222222&mycolor2=77ADD1&mycolor3=FFFFFF&autoplay=true&rand=0&f=4&vol=100&pat=0&grad=false&ow=410&oh=311"/></object> </center>

Or, if with what I did to embed it isn't the best choice I'm willing to switch to another solution.

I appreciate any help.
Even a link or something to a thread I may have missed would be great.

Solved Re: need code to randomize music

There might be better ways to do it, but I created an html page for the playlist, then put in a popup code link for the playlist on my homepage. This opens up my player in a small, separate window that you leave open while surfing.

Here's the popup window code from my Homepage Message if you want it:

Code:
<a onclick="window.open('URL OF YOUR HTML PAGE', 'popup47', 'width=475,height=320,height=370,left=150,top=250'); return false" href="URL OF YOUR HTML PAGE" target="popup47"><strong>Rock Playlist<strong></a>

You can use a pop-up player to have music play continuously
while you browse the forum (without creating an Html page)
by editing your playlist & swf info...

This player will show cover art or the actual video
(click to test your playlist)

Here is a pop-up version with your playlist code added...
(place this anywhere Html is enabled for a pop-up player link)
Code:
<table><tr><td><img src="http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k57/RoNo1/player01.gif" style="float: left"><a href="http://assets.myflashfetish.com/" onclick="window.open('http://assets.myflashfetish.com/swf/mp3/mp-sk.swf?myid=37459171&path=2009/12/08&mycolor=222222&mycolor2=77ADD1&mycolor3=FFFFFF&autoplay=true&rand=1&f=4&vol=100&pat=0&grad=false&ow=410&oh=311', 'popup1','width=350px,height=160,height=300,left=150,top=250'); return false"><font face="times new roman" size="2">Pop-up Music Player</font></a></td></tr></table>
(autoplay and random are on)

test the code in this online editor

You know what, I like that popup idea better I think.
I'm going to go that route instead of what I currently have.

I appreciate the feedback all.

Time to go re-engineer a solution. Smile
I'll be importing the code presented here and get something new and slick working.

Thanks! Smile
