Forum Description: WebArtz-The Art of Web Designing

As the forum tag line suggests, the forum is all about web designing and coding. The main purpose of this forum is to provide a nice place for web design related discussion and help related to coding HTML and CSS pages.

Basically, we help our members to code their own website templates with HTML and CSS. We give them advice related to many issues like how to write standard compliant code, how to make pages display perfectly in all browsers etc. We provide tips and tutorials that will be helpful for all members whether an absolute beginner or an advanced coder.

In addition, like all other forums, we have a general chat and games section where you can relax, chat with your friends, tell jokes, share interesting stuff, play games and have fun.

This is a well moderated forum and a great place to discuss about web designing and coding. If you are a noob, you can start learning coding HTML and CSS from right here and if you are an advanced coder, this is a perfect place for you to discuss about coding issues and share your creations with others. If you are not interested in web design at all, you can still have fun in this forum in general chat and games zone.

Theme Changer on WebArtz!
Choose your favorite one out of 7 themes!

Hi All!

Today, We have installed a Theme Changer (Style Switcher) on WebArtz Very Happy

You can find it on the bottom-right corner of the forum. Just click to select your favorite theme and it will be there on all pages.

Sadly, the theme changer isn't supported by some browser. It is fully supported by Mozilla Firefox. So, it would be best if you are using Firefox Very Happy

Download Firefox for the best results

New Forum + New Staff
GFX Request forum is open. Veljko, Green CoW and zoids25 joins the staff.

Hello!

After lot of discussion, finally, we have decided to to have a graphic request forum on WebArtz. The new graphic request forum is found as a sub-forum of 'Graphics' forum.

With addition of request forum, we have added 2 talented graphic designers to the WebArtz team who will work on members requests. The designers are Veljko and Green CoW. In addition, our active member zoids25 has been promoted to moderator.

Congrats to all the guys who are joining the WebArtz team.

Hi !

Today we are going to add a special tool/utility to WebArtz Very Happy

Being a coding forum, we always helped our members to code with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other languages. This time we are providing a very good and easy-to-use tool (specially) for those who are beginner at HTML.

We are releasing the WebArtz Online HTML Editor!

This tool allows you to write/edit your HTML and CSS codes easily and also provides a live preview your code without saving it to your PC!

There are two options available for writing/editing code, Design Mode and Code Mode. With design mode or visual editor mode, you can create/edit HTML elements in WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) environment, which will show you live preview of your page (just like reply box on this forum Wink

) With code mode, you can write/paste your code and edit it quickly and see how it will be displayed in browser by hitting the 'preview' button. With code mode, you can even add some CSS by using <style></style> tags! Inline CSS is also supported Smile

The preview button will show you live preview of your page. You won't have to save page as .html in you computer and then open with a browser. Previewing you page will be pretty cool and easy with WebArtz online editor.

The editor has many other features and it is useful in many other ways. You may find them while using this tool clown

Again, we give credits of this additional feature to our members who help us a lot to develop this forum and give us a chance to enrich it by adding new features and tools like online editor.

It gives us great pleasure to announce our 8th Contest for 2010 in the month of August as a WebArtz Video Contest.

In this contest the participants have to create a video about WebArtz Forum. Yes, its fun. There are plenty of free softwares with help of which you can create/edit your own video Cool

What you need to do?

Simply, you are required to create a video about WebArtz Forum. It should explain what WebArtz Forum is, what does it do, what visitors and members get there, how it is helpful etc.

The length of the video must be from 0.5 to 3 minutes (30 to 180 seconds). The video must be uploaded to either YouTube or DailyMotion. Once you have uploaded your video, you can post it in this topic using the video button WebArtz - Page 2 Film

The video can have anything in it as far as it is related with WebArtz forum. It can be 'you' on the screen talking about WebArtz forum, or you can use some screen recorder software and show pages of WebArtz forum and showing some info in subtitles. It can be anything as per your imagination Smile

New Ranks + Theme Changer
New rank images and theme changer for you!

We are feeling very happy to announce that WebArtz Forum has crossed milestone of 20,000 posts

Today we are adding a new set of rank images which looks like this :

We have one more ~~new~~ thing today. Its the Theme Changer! We had a theme changer before on WebArtz but it was removed due to error on IE and other old browsers.

We have created a new theme changer with jQuery. The controls are found on the homepage message where the contest banner is. To see them, click the 'Theme Changer' button and controls will slide down Very Happy

The themes will take some time to load for the first time but once it is loaded fully, it will work smoothly. If you encounter any bug with the theme changer, please inform us about it in this thread.

This contest now onwards will be held yearly. This is our contest for the year 2010.

What you need to do?
You just have to post a photo of yours with a banner in the background saying WebArtz. The inspiration to this contest was this thread here.

Is that all that you got to do?
Its not so easy this time. You have to go through a round of questionnaire as well.

The Process
Submit your photos in this thread before the 15th, which guarantees your participation in the contest.

On 15th of Sept, a questionnaire will be forwarded to you via PM. You need to PM back the answers before the 20th.

How will the winner be decided?
On the 20th, we will post the voting thread with the pictures of our participants. Then members can vote for each one of them.
With the questionnaire, Anikillien & Me will be judging the questionnaire & giving 1 or 0 points for each of the questions.
The Number of Votes + The Number of points earned will decide the winner of this contest in both categories of Mr. WebArtz & Miss WebArtz.

On 30th of September the voting will end & the winners will be announced.
