Some help with videos on my forum..... Empty Some help with videos on my forum.....

Ok, I have seen other forums do this, but my attempt at it failed miserably, lol. So I am looking for a hand with this.

I'd like to do a few things involving video with my site. I've managed to create a homepage, and at the bottom (or anywhere, I can always move it, i suppose), I'd like to have videos.

Now, Ideally, I'd like to have a youtube player on my site, where guests can do searches for their videos or their choice. I've seen this done, so i know it is possible, I just havent been able to figure it out.

I've also seen where you have a movie title (or image of movie cover) and when you click it, the movie plays in full. I have no idea how this was done, or if its even doable. Obviouslty, I don't want to do anythign illeagal, so that is why I am asking for help.

I have the site bookmarked, so I can PM it to someone if they can help. I'd send a PM to that member, but i don't see the admin listed, plus its not in english, lol.

If anyone can assist me with this, I'd sure be greatful!

Thanks,
Rob

I can, and know how to put a youtube player on. Is it for your channel, or just a plain old youtube search?

Hello,

You can go to youtube.com and get the embed code of the video that you want to put. Now you just need to copy and paste the embed code of the video.

Well, yeah you can. But that's not what he wanted. I think he wanted a widget for it, so he could have a mini youtube on his site.

Yes, I want a tube player that people can just search for whatever they want. I do know how to add widgets and such, I just need the code.

Here is the code I used for *a test site YouTube widget
Code:
<center>
<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1HUuG1vg5lY&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1HUuG1vg5lY&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>

<br><br>

<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DQ08vVN3e7U&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DQ08vVN3e7U&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>
</center>
(It's placed in a table to allow a different widget background)

And/or... you could use a popup "YouTube Movies" link
Code:
<table border="0"><tr><td><img src="http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k57/RoNo1/movies2.gif" border="0" style="float: left;"></td> <td><a onclick="window.open('http://www.youtube.com/movies', 'popup2', 'width=1000,height=650,height=200,left=150,top=150,scrollbars=yes'); return false" href="http://www.youtube.com/movies" target="popup2" style="text-decoration: none;" title="Popup YouTube Movies">YouTube Movies</a></td></tr><table>
Test the code in *this editor
