Do you mean the nav bar underneath the header image? I can't think of a way to hide/remove it completely, but you could set it to images only, then replace each image with a 1px blank square.

This is done at:

Admin panel >> general admin >> headers.

i have tried this before, but it isn't the best way, so does it mean that it's impossible?
