Founder Issues Empty Founder Issues

Post by Ian_Burns January 7th 2010, 12:56 am

Hello, I don't know where to post this... Anyhow...

The founder of our forum, who left long ago, has come back, he is demanding 15 Euros, or he will delete our forum. We do not want this, as we have worked to hard on the forum! To many registered users!
We do not trust the founder, this seems more like... Cyber Armed Robbery...

Our forum is: RedCountyRP.Darkbb.com

He has removed most of us from our user groups, and changed his own name to "God".
We have 2 days to pay, but we (the admin team) have agreed that we do not trust him, as with the money he will make another server (We are running a successful RP server on SA-MP) with the money.

We would like ALL founder rights changed to the user Alec_Rae!
Hopefully action will be taken...

-Red County Roleplay Admin Team.

Hello,

Has he been absent for in excess of 6 months & 1 day?
Ifso, you can get his password changed and you can access his account ( as the founding account cannot be changed ) via the forgotten password situation.
However, if he has not been absent for inexcess of 6 months, you can either wait here for a member of staff to reply, or you can try to get a new password via the forgotten password link (below) and explain the situation to the member of staff you contact,

Link => https://help.forumotion.com/rules-important-points-f10/for-founders-who-lost-their-passwords-t42285.htm

To be honest, I don't know what the outcome would be, but I wish you best of luck.

Thank you for the reply,
Unfortunatly, the founder has not been away for 6 months...
I will try to get the password changed, but I am going to wait for a Staff Member to contact me. We have a lot of posts, applications, and etc, that we really don't want to risk loosing them.

In this situation I would Pm the member of staff to quest the password changed, and then explain clearly (as you have done so above), and hopefully they are kind hearted towards you, and they will fix up the password for you.

I am quite certain that the situation going on here is against ForuMotion's TOS. Good Luck with your issue, I am sure the admin team will understand your situation and take the appropriate measures.

The founder has made the forum unaccessable, and made it where only a link shows saying.
"Forum Deletion January 8! Donate Now!"
I dont think anything will prevent this...

I think you should have PM'ed Typlo or Luky, as Eximma isn't really active enough nor is an admin of Forumotion. Usually if you contact one of the two, they will get your request and try to solve it in a timely manner.

Well, this is kind of odd.

I still hope you get your forum back, however, why even bother when the move is official....

Yes, Alec (Our Coder and etc.) Announced it.
I was trying to save it but nothing happened, and its still there, so we are just going to move, so this will never happen again.

I'm sorry to say this.... but isn't the founder has the mutual right of the forum... what if the situation change? what if founder claim he just let the others to manage the forum for a while on his absent? or something like that..? what if the founder is actually right from his view? just wondering.... i'm not taking side...

sorry again about your case..
