Moderator Rights Issues
Hey Guys,
I recently made a forum for my game series and book and I'm in need of assistance. My friend who is Co-Developer for the games and book asked to be a moderator. I said yes, obviously, as he should have been anyway. So I said this means you can ban users, delete threads, edit posts, delete posts, look at the IP Address of posters, etc. He said okay cool and went to test his new powers by trying to look at another member's IP.
I hope I get some quick help with this!

- Problem 1
He clicked the IP Button from someone's post and it simply loaded a page saying:
Notification
---------------
Not Allowed
Or something along those lines. I've been through the admin panel and can't find any reason for it to do this.
- Problem 2
My friend then goes "Well, IP isn't working. Can I try banning?" I replied with go ahead, try it on *member*, he won't mind because you can unban him right away. My friend sees no button to ban. I have set
ACP -> General -> Forum -> Security -> Disallow moderators to ban members
to yes and no, and both times nothing changed.
I hope I get some quick help with this!

Re: Moderator Rights Issues
Solution 1:
Users & groups>Special Rights
Users IP display :Moderators
Save.
Solution 2: ACP -> General -> Forum -> Security -> Disallow moderators to ban members
Make it No. Save
Then ask the moderator to ban a user.
To ban a user, just go into his profile.

Re: Moderator Rights Issues
Thanks for such a fast reply, but I've already done both those things. There must be something wrong with Forumotion's actual coding.
Re: Moderator Rights Issues
Do you have any other moderator on your forum?

Re: Moderator Rights Issues
I don't because the forum only has 5 members, but I'll set up a new account now and see where that goes.
EDIT:
This is going somewhere, as I can now see IPs. I still cannot ban though.

Re: Moderator Rights Issues
I can see the IP's.
I want you to tell me
ACP -> General -> Forum -> Security -> Disallow moderators to ban members
Whatever the option chosen, reverse it & tell me when you are done by letting me know whether you chose yes or no.

I reversed it, it is now set to no.
Re: Moderator Rights Issues
There you go i banned him. Keep it set to Disallow moderators to ban members: NO.
I don't see any issues with any of the functions. You might need to tell your moderator how to ban & how to see the IP's.

Re: Moderator Rights Issues
I'm sorry for all that trouble. I am 100% sure it was broken, as he was sending me screenshots. I wonder what happened :\
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the help!
Re: Moderator Rights Issues
Nopes, you had setup the disallow moderators to ban members to Yes
Hence it was not letting him ban. I know that statement is confusing for most of the admins.
