Who is Online Not Accurate

well, this has been happening all day and its now bugging me.
About 3 users (actual members) were online today & we were all in chat. Please keep in mind we were on the site about 2-3 hours. It said it on & off the entire time It said "0 Members online"

I have a similar problem on my forum. Once I had a bunch of people online (including myself) and it said there were about 4 people online.

Are your browsers fully up to date?
For example, IE8 rather than IE7, the latest version of Safari & FireFox.

Is it happening only on this site, or does it occur else where as well?

EDIT: Alot of my memebers are sayying the same thing.

Ok, so it's specific to your forum ...

Try re-synchronizing it =>
Admin panel >> General ( Tab ) >> Forum/configuration > Misc Options* > Resynchronize your forum = ticked & then hit save.

Now, to be 100% sure of this working, please close & re-open your browser and check if ti is still occurring.

still not working. I had 10 users in chat and it said 5 online

Ok, now im confused, is this specific to when users are in the chatbox, or all the time on the forum?

For the chatbox:
Could it be that the users in the chatbox have click the "join the chatbox" button, and be chatting in the chatbox, whilst NOT viewing the forum, making topic or posts?
Believe me, it's more than possible, I do it all the time Wink

For all the time:
I need to know if you have edited ANY templates, as in any templates that have been edited and is still custom (NOT DEFAULT) at this present moment.

The overall forum.

One template is modified. It is the overall_footer
It was edited to remove some of the uinessicary links from the footer

But, I don't see how it could effect the amount of users online.

Overall_footer was the edited one, correct?
It shouldn't matter to the Who is Online feature.

Have you, or any other administrator added, or removed any codes anywhere in the forum, around the same time as this problem first occurring?

yes, I got the same problem like that too. Sometime, it's not even showing other people flag, it only show my flag.

Correct. Darren, only other codes is CSS & its all for appearance.

However, I did change the "How long before user is marked offline" to 60 and it seems to be working fine. Lets keep this open incase something happens & so Jalochee can get his solved.
