Can't edit private messages section of nav bar.

I am unable to edit the messages section of the nav bar.

All I want to do is change the images but when I click save I get an error message saying "you must provide a menu name". The menu name is already there and I can't even edit it anyway so the problems not on my end.

I'm sure that it might take a bit for you guys to fix this so I thought I'd ask this question so I might be able to use it for a temporary fix. Is there any way to add a secondary picture, text and redirection url to a custom nav bar section like the message section is?
