Same IP Addresses

So this isn't really a problem, but if anyone knows, in what kind of situations can we find two users (or more) with the same IPs? I know that using the same computer or living in the same apartment building makes you have the same IP with the other user, but are there any other conditions that causes that? I need to be wary of double accounts in my forum. There's been bad experiences with those >_< Thanks!

Can be a proxy, a coffee shop down the street, house next to them, etc. Most likely it is either a proxy or the same user. Might want to do a whois lookup on the IP. That and you can check http://proxy.org and visit your site (Or whatismyip.com ) with a few and see if any of them match.

Also, sometimes you can get the best answer just by asking them via PM.

...that's the situation where the IPs are DIFFERENT, right? I was talking about the situation for same IPs...

It depends on your ISP-Internet Service Provider.

Someone staying far off from my place but having the same ISP, will have the same Ip as mine.
