Latest Topics..........

what im wanting to do is put the latest topics on the portal page two thirds width and with the max amount of topics in it........

on my main home page i have a small scrolling latest topics but when i add the large one to portal it makes the small one on homepage go large too.........

is it possible for me to keep the small scrolling on the homepage but install the large onto the portal.....?
