Solved Off-Limit Areas

Post by Iceh May 25th 2010, 5:45 pm

Quick question.. hope someone can help. :]

Is there a way to put some areas off limit to some members? And no, I don't just mean "locking" or "closing" a forum or topic. I mean, completely not allowing them not to look at it. Like, if they tried to click the forum it would be like "Sorry, you cannot access this area.", or just have it so they can't see the forums at all that they are not allowed to see/post in.

Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it?

Pre-thanks. :]

When you create the forum, don't allow the members to view it.

I've already created all the forums I want..
Is there a way to modify and make this change?

ACP >> Categories and Forums >> Find the Forum, then on the right, Permissions Off-Limit Areas Perms >> Under View and Read, un-select the users / groups

Maybe that?

Solved Re: Off-Limit Areas

Ah, I figured it out.
A little bit of a hassle..
But basically I'm just clicking everything as "Must be Administrator" to view.. then select the people to keep seeing it semi-manually then leaving the people I don't want to see it blank...

Thanks though. <:
