cant get the quote box color to change

I have tried installing another theme to see if that was the problem, but even with the new theme I cannot change the quotes background from white to a dark grey. Please help.

It doesn't happen on the first quote. It happens when I multi quote.

I waited 24 hours to bump this topic.

Here is what I mean. The first time you quote something, the color is black (which is good) then the second time you quote something the box is white ( I would like it to also be black).

Edit: I solved it. You have to go into blockquote in your css.
