    Ideally i would like to put an advert box on the forum which is a direct link to the sponsors website but i just cant figure out how to do this , any help would be very much appreciated

    How would you like to do that? Using widgets or floating boxes?

    well thats done with widgets Wink admin panel >> modules >> widgets management

    add new widget, edit it with the text and images you want, save.
    place it on the forum widgets
