how to make someone a moderator

i need help my new forum has 3 people me the admin and 2 other people.
i already made them a special rank but they say that they dont have moderator powers how do i make it so that they do

Make a group named the moderators and set the permissions to the certain forums you want, and simply add the person you want to become a moderator.
