    How do I set up my board so that anyone can join the "Lords of the Past" member group without a moderator's approval?

    Admin Panel > Users and Groups > Group Administration > click Members need to be able to join group without permission Editer for the Lords of the Past group > set Group Status to Opened group.

    That's been done already. Moderators are still being required to confirm new members to the usergroup.

    Thats not possible, it can be possible if you set number of posts as a requirement.
