Changing my theme

Ok guys so I own a site, But im thinking of changing the theme - but im not sure if changing my theme will rewen all my work, Example - Will it erase all my topic icons and new banner etc?
If so, I wont bother changing it - but if it dosnt and there is someway around it I would love your help.

It won't erase your added graphics(like topic icons, warning system etc.), just the modified ones such as the banner, navigation bars, etc.
