I do not know if I'm just the lucky one, but at the moment I have two options re-installed (?) in my Administration panel:

Activate ads :
[All] -- [Members and guests] -- [Guest] (I choose 'Guest')

And:

Reduce the number of displays for images advertisments :
[Yes] -- [No] ( I choose 'No')

This solves the advertisements issue satisfactory, in my opinion.

In all this hoopla I've remained silent (imagine, me, silent). However, even with this reversal, I'm not quite appeased.

Support around here still stinks, and I just found out through Wibiya toolbar that the PHPBB3 version has an error in the JS code that won't allow IE users to view the bar. Since it's PHPBB3 its unfixable as templates are disabled.

Makes me wonder how much more "doesn't work".

I can still remained "unappeased" within right since these problems are not "free-forum" based but rather company based.

I went back to the ad options and now guest is there.Clicked on guest only and ads gone! For now.Mine wasn't there last night btw.

I just checked my acp and mine is not back for guests only. Perhaps it is because of credits.

I have noticed a change in the ads today. They seem to be toned down from so much flashing stuff. I would like to be able to place them in a different location beside directly under the banner if that could be worked out.

Just checked mine is there for now.

I'm having the same problem. The option still isn't appearing for my forum at all. If you could help us out, it'd be appreciated. ^_^

As for suggestions on how to make revenue, maybe forums that get large amounts of guests/posts/members can have the "guests only" option and then the newly made and unactive forums have ads set for everyone?

The option is not showing up for us either. I am where I am suppose to be in General then Configuration. What happened?

Perhaps it could have something to do with the language? Meaning the server you're on could be different so the support is different?

I have been following this thread since the beginning but haven't commented. I'm happy to see that the options to have the ads be just for Guests is back for most people.

That option is not back for me, tho. I have no option at all now to choose who sees the ads -- like the screencap "paor" posted up above.

I saw where it has been mentioned that maybe new forums from this point on will not have the option to choose who sees the ads and I think that's fine if that is stated UP FRONT as someone registers to start a new forum. My forum, however, is a week old. I'm HOPING that my one week old forum is not being classified as NEW in Forumotion's mind. It is not acceptable for smaller forums or newer forums to have to deal with the ads, if that is the thought now. It's not what I was told when I signed up.

I would greatly appreciate once again having the option to choose who gets to see ads on my forum.

I can see the option on your forum, are you on the founder account?

Don't worry, I don't think that's the reason the option isn't back for you. My forum is over a year old, and the option is still gone. I think it's just that our forums are on a different server, as someone mentioned above.

Edit- Oops, just now noticed the above post. I'll try using the founders account, but I didn't have to before.

The "guest" option isn't appearing on my forum either.
And yes, I'm with the founder's account.

I just did that and the original is there to check for ads for guests.

Apparently the founder must be the one to activate the option.

I appreciate the options back and the ads are gone!

Typlo, I know off topic, but I really need an answer as this is going to help decide if we stay with forumotion or move on.

I need to know who to talk to about changing the JS script in the templates. There's an error that bugs the forums for some things in IE. If this error cannot be fixed, I've already found another host. I am just waiting to know for sure.

Typlo, there is no guest option, only one to reduce image ads. Which doesn't seem to work for me. Everything's images.

I find an button that doesn't really work effectively any good.

Thank you for removing those ads. You are right it is on the founder account only. I would like it put back to any admin but I don't want to ask for to much.
