Cash Mod - Money for your forum

The idea

Now, this hasn't been brought up for a while (Yes, I know how to use the search feature), and I want to bring it back up.
In the past the Admins claimed that adding a Cash Mod to the Forumotion database would be a difficult task. I find this quite perplexing, unless they were attempting to create a intricate Mod then I see no problem. I would request that a very basic Cash Mod is installed that increases every post and only the Admin's can edit the value. Of course this would be of great benefit in my forum.

On the other hand, I would also like to bring the idea of a advanced Cash Mod back onto the plate, since no one has brought that up either, and the Techies might have just forgotten about it. One where members can use their cash to buy "items" that will simply appear in their mini profile, these could be formatted as [img] tags.

French Suggestion:


Simple Mod

- Cash increasing per post.
- Admins have ability to modify cash.
- Cash can be transferred to other members.



Advanced Mod

- Features of Simple Mod
- Shop that lets you buy items that appear as,
- [img] Tags in mini profile. Which you can set.
- Shop also lets you set the amount of time a item refreshes. 0 for infinate.
- Currency (Can set diffrent types of cash)
- Rarity
- Untransferable items.
- Lottery (Can be enabled)

um nooooo idea who you are ( i assume you are some dude from forumotion) but if a moderator thinks that this topic is getting out of hand he/she will correct the members involved. and this topic is fine... no signs of fights or anything

I just noticed today that in the probbale suggestion topic, a new post ahs been made on what sugegstions have been invented or in progress. And the cash mod has been started on and is in progress .

Me too, I even had a post in my MOD/ADMIN section telling them to give me a "yes/no" to any possible upgrade on that list they liked, well, thats imbarresing I'm feeling very N00b now I do hope though that the tech team are actually working on at least some of those things seeing how they do have over 100 "yes" votes and are good ideas

To be honest i really dont see the point. I woundnt want that as i think its odd u can buy houses n stuff y would u want a house?

You are missing the point, the cash mod is not for real ... its like a virtual shop ... like the sims ... A board with this mod can activate the shop so members can post posts... to get credits and then they use the credits to buy virtual stuff that they can show off on a forum.

its just a mod for making people more active on boards... although the auction mod, which is similar to this can actually proceed with real transactions with real products and real cash...

I can see the point in adding the shop. but i don't really see why people would spend time buying fake things. I guess its just me I can't see how that would fit in in a health site. no offence intended

it isent buying fake things

if i have a virtual company or something like that in a game (any game)

so i can sell things in the website

A side note: your poll says "an cash mod", although if you wanted to be gramaticaly correct, you would write "a cash mod"... Just a thought, I'm great with gramatical dealings, then again, my spelling sucks!

Chinese people like cash mod a lot as it is a basic function of the forum software developed by Chinese: Discuz! , you guys might not heard that before but it is absolutely popular, cash mod is being the most common function of forums in Chinese society

For Discuz! , the cash mod has more option and freedom for admins, we call that extra credit, that is, this extra credit can be amended both manually and automatically, for example, you made extracredit1 something called "gold", we can input the name shown in the forum: gold , and we can also input its formula for changing the value

It would be a very cool idea and I hope they make an advanced one!

Is the cash mod really in progress?

The member who posted "In Progress" isn't a Staff Member, so I can't give any guarantees if they are or not
