Lost topics, backup possible?

Hi,

Yesterday I lost lots of topics after replacing them. I can't find them anywhere on the forum, so I wonder if its possible to get the back up from before moving.
I've tried the tool where I've found a link of at this forum, but I can't remember my password wich I used when founding the forum.
Is isn't in the registration email.

The topics that were lost were very important for some people and I feel bad about it. So I really want to try to get them back.
Is there another possibility?

There's no way to recover deleted topics. Unless they are shadowed.

What is shadowed?

Shadowed is when you can still see the topic after you moved it

edit; put in before instead of after

I can't see them.
Why is back up not possible? I've deleted my forum three times and after a few months it was online again with complete content.
Is there no way to set the back up from a few days ago, so that the topics are back? It's not a problem when I lose the posts from the last few days.
