New users must present themself before viewing forum
Hi!
I have a question, I have tried searching for the answer here, but no results.
I want people to introduce them self before posting in the forum. Can it be done, that they can only view the information section, that contains the introduction forum, and the rest of the forum remains hidden until they present them self?
If so, how? I am tired of the inactive users that read all, but never joins in.

All forums have members that never post they join to read. There nothing we can do
Re: New users must present themself before viewing forum
I know, I was just hoping I could "force" them in to activity.
We have added something about that in the rules, that members must present them self, and if they have 0 post they will be deleted after two months. But seems like people don't like to read rules.

Hello Lola Pagola,
Technically speaking there is a way to isolate and "force" them, as you said, into some activity. One way of doing this is to restrict all the forums except for the Introductions forum on your forum so that no one may read them unless they're in a certain group.
You can make this "certain group" have a one post requirement in order to join it. When new members have made a post in the Introductions forum, they will then be automatically added to that group which will then allow them to have access to the full forum.
If you're interested, then this topic is helpful: https://help.forumotion.com/tricks-tips-f32/restricted-forums-t38399.htm
To make that certain group, please go to:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Users & Groups Tab
3. Group Administration (on the left, under Groups)
4. Click on "Create new group"
5. Select "Group auto-subscribe : Yes"
6. Fill in minimum posts as 1
7. Hit Save
After that, just use the article I mentioned earlier to give them access to the full forum and to restrict normal members from the full forum.
Regards,
Base

Thank you base, that sounds like solution, I will try that!!
Re: New users must present themself before viewing forum
Now I have a follow up question.
I have done the above, made a group, and given the rights I wanted to.
But when members that are not in that group try to access a closed part of the forum, they get a message (its in Norwegian, but it probably sounds like this in English) "Only members with special rights can access this forum".'
Can I change this message somehow?
(maybe I should make a new topic for this? I'll try using this one first).
