how to change to forum rules in phpbb2
Hallo, people. I heard that you can change the default rules on forums in phpbb2. Can someone tell me what to do? When i go to the tamplate agreenment tab i see this but i don't know what to do.
- Code:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td><span class="nav"><a class="nav" href="{U_INDEX}">{L_INDEX}</a></span></td>
</tr>
</table>
<table class="forumline" width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<th class="thHead" valign="middle" height="25">{SITENAME} - {REGISTRATION}</th>
</tr>
<!-- BEGIN switch_fb_explain -->
<tr>
<td class="row1" align="center">
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center" id="fb_explain">
<tr>
<td align="center" width="10%"><img src="http://2img.net/i/fa/admin/icones/big_ico/warning.png" alt="" /></td>
<td class="genmed align_gauche" width="90%">{switch_fb_explain.FB_EXPLAIN}</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
<!-- END switch_fb_explain -->
<tr>
<td class="row1" align="center">
<table width="80%" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td>
<div class="genmed align_gauche">
<br />{AGREEMENT}<br />{MY_RULES}
<br />
<br />
<div align="center">
<a class="genmed" href="{U_AGREE_OVER13}">{AGREE_OVER_13}</a><br />
<br />
<a class="genmed" href="{U_INDEX}">{DO_NOT_AGREE}</a>
</div>
<br />
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>

Hello viankova,
You will need to replace the {AGREEMENT} with your own set of rules. Make sure that you publish your edits afterwards otherwise they will not show up.
Regards,
Base

Re: how to change to forum rules in phpbb2
I hve been seeing a few of these threads with this question lately.
This is another misconception. people are thinking they can just add anything they want in there and disregard forumotions rules of conduct
Yes you can add your own rules there. but you have to keep formotions rules in place, they are there for legal purpose and to inform your potential joining members on forumotions policy and what you can not do along with how to conduct ones self. ( Awareness )
your members are supposed to acknowledge this and agree therefore they no and understand any consequences that may be put in place by your staff or even law enforcement for any possibly criminal acts etc..
So yes you can add to this with you own additional rules and regulations but forumotions rules must stay in place or you can lose your forum.
You cant go in there and not have that there becuase people would not know the real policies etc.. thus could never be held liable or responsible for there actions in any regards to what forumotion has in place there.
or something like that.
it's like saying you can just make up your own TOS and disregard all laws and what the host has in place for legal purposes etc... lol
Unless it changed? i dont know? but, for as long as i have been doing this stuff it has always been like this and not only forumotion but other host as well.
I will have to bring it up to typlo just to confirm once and for all
