Removing Images Help

If I were to remove the images for "New Posts", "No New Posts", "Locked", etc, would that column disappear from the main forum view page? I want to get rid of that column completely, so that is doesn't show.

Yes that column on the forum index will disappear; however, the words: New Posts, No New Posts and Locked will still appear at the bottom of the forum index. Much like this:
