Can I make my forum private?

Can I make the forum I created private, as in someone has to be approved before they can join the site itself? If so how? I've been searching for a bit now and cannot figure it out.

You'll need to go into Admin panel > General Configuration

Scroll down the page and you'll see the following....New accounts activation
You can choose between an automatic activation (Users) or a manual activation (Administrator).
With manual activation, you receive an email for each new member.

You need to select Admin

Now members may only join when you accept their application.

If you want to make your whole forum invisible to un-registered members, then you will need to change your

permissions to View forums = Members
Permissions to read topics = Members

This can all be done in your forum management/permissions
