Hi! It is not loading slow for me. Check and see if it is still loading slowly. If it is, it could be just your Browser, your connection, Your internet provider or if you have multiple windows open.

Most of the time cookies do not make the forum go slower. They are actually for the users comfort. History some times makes it go slower if you are using a browser like internet explorer.

they are using Firefox so its the browser or the internet connection speed

Hi the page did load somewhat slow.

One other possibility that can really cause a slowdown is the pictures.

Because your page has lots of them and they are hosted from a number of different places like photobucket, yuku, imagefast etc. it will slow your site down because time is taken to 'fetch' the photos from each of those sites.

It also means that say Photobucket is slow.. immediately your site will run slow as well!

It might be worth investing some time to move your pictures all onto the same server and only one site to host your pictures.

The forum doesn't load real slow for me. It seems like it loads the same speed as any other forumotion forum for me. I even tested this with a couple of browsers. The forum seems to load alright for these browsers:

• Safari
• Firefox
• Google Chrome

And to make things even better, or worse to others. I viewed the site using Windows XP. Which means there can't be a problem with the windows, or cookies. It has to be the browsers you guys are currently using. If not, turn off your computer, and etc. Just do the usual. Post back here if that doesn't help.

maybe its his internet speed connections because others arent getting a slow load for your and other forums

Having a lot of post won't do that. If the forum has a lot of images, moving images or a lot of JavaScript it will cause slowness.

Actually, he does have a lot of images & HTML on his forum. I should know since I used to be a member of Lostlegends community. But now that you mention it, his site does have a lot of images. Most of them are coming from his category and forum description.

Thats because your images are too big!

Your main header is 245.51 KB you should aim for around the 50 KB mark.
Your background is over 200kb, again you should be aiming for under 100k.

part of this is that your using a lot of .PNG graphics when you don't need to. Prettymuch you only really need to use a png -if- you have transparent bits. otherwise consider a jpg or gif format as it will cut your filesizes down massively!

If your using Photoshop, there's a feature called 'save for web' aka CTRL+ALT+SHIFT S that will allow you to optimize images for use on websites.

that's partly because your in the USA and no doubt have really good internet mate

it shouldn't be a matter of if it loads fast on X browser or X computer or 'try another browser'

basic rule of designing websites is you need to assume for the worst possible browser and connection.

Yes. there are still people in the world who have 56k modems and less then 1GB services, and you can bet they're using a outdated browser to boot!

Assuming everyone has the best/latest just means that you will lose everyone else.

To answer the questions: The problem no longer seems to be occuring. It loads fine now. It used to be loading so slowly the page would take 10 minutes to load @_@

But ok, I'll take the graphics comments into consideration when I make a new theme, thanks.
