Password Protected Website/Forum

Hello,

I've been having an issue setting up a password-protected website/forum for a while now. I read the entire post concerning the topic, but I'm still confused as to where the content is entered. A better explanation than what is offered I would appreciate. I know very little coding from my experiences, and this is the first time I've turned to password-protection. I've heard rumor of a better tutorial on some topics, but I don't think it ever got approved. Like, "A dummies guide to coding," or something along those lines. Regardless, I need help as quickly as possible. I'm on a deadline, so any help is appreciated greatly.
