WYSIWYG is What you see is what you get. If you picked bold you see will see bold instead of the code.

But cant you already do that if you are on mozilla?
Or does it activate it on chrome and stuff too?

It won't work with Chrome, but should work with other browsers.

That option in the administration panel just makes it the default mode of the editor if you have activate extended message editor set to yes . If you do not activate it, you can still use it by pressing the button that is in the top right corner of the editor.
