Is it possible to have forum.mydomain.com or mydomain.com, using godaddy DNS and for free?

i think there is no free domain name company ... You will have to pay to get a domain name.

I know that. But I heard forummotion liked to charge me to use it.

I already own the domain.

If you bought your domain from another host Forumotion won't charge.
For links it should work as normal.

I will give it a try when I get both my forum and domain set up. I will come back to this thread if there are any issues, until such a time I consider this:

"Solved".
