Inability to access the Admin panel
For some reason, I am now unable to access the Admin panel.
This also applies to the member I have appointed moderator status.
We have both followed the instructions to the letter, to no avail.
Could someone please assist us? Thanks

Re: Inability to access the Admin panel
Hello Fancyfeathers,
Have you got any HTML or personal coding on your forums? If so, that could be messing up your forums. Also, moderators can't access the Administration Panel, only administrators can. You can try fixing HTML errors at the Utilities system.
If that doesn't help, try entering the address of the Administration Panel which is http://yourforumsaddress/admin/index.forum?
Regards,
Base

* Nothing except what comes with the site.
** When I follow the instructions in the Utilities area I get this message:
The login and the password you specified are wrong.
*** When I click on that link, it comes up as an error.

Re: Inability to access the Admin panel
I belive that's my problem, I can't log in as the administrator.darren1 wrote:

I'm unable to go any further than what I've posted.
When I registered, I had a bit of a problem getting to the admin panel, but finally succeeded. Once I logged out, I was no longer able to log in as the administrator.
I did try my URL/admin and the same page appeares.

Re: Inability to access the Admin panel
Okay, have you installed any widget after which you were unable to access your admin panel?
If you did, try removing that widget & see what happens.

I just had to make sure.
As sanket said, if u hav inserted any new widgets about the time this had happened, attempt to remove them.
Go to This Thread to learn how to get ur password recovered to the utilities
UPDATE EDIT: Sanket, code master, this is ur corner now

Re: Inability to access the Admin panel
I recently registered on Sunday. Other than to create a portal page the one time I had access to the admin panel, I don't recall installed anything. I was spending most of my time trying to find my way around.Sanket wrote:Okay, have you installed any widget after which you were unable to access your admin panel?

I didn't even get a chance to set up the portal page.
I logged out to take a break & when I went to log back in the site would not acknowledge my username or password. I have not been able to access anything since.

I mentioned doing that a few posts back.
This is the message I got:
You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password

Just thought of something.
Have you attempted to get a new password via the "I forgot my password" tool to your admin account yet?
thats on the assumption that you have not disabled that option.

* You had suggested this earlier, which I believe is what I'm going to have to do.darren1 wrote:

Go to This Thread to learn how to get ur password recovered to the utilities
** I don't believe I disabled anything. If I did, it wasn't intentionally.
I'll request a new password & see how that goes.
I really appreciate all the assistance I've been given.

That suggestion is thinking that on the login page on your forum, not the utilities

Re: Inability to access the Admin panel
I want to 'Thank' all who helped with my access issue.
I requested a new password and that seems to have done the trick.
for now.
