Banner Adds

All of a sudden we have banner adds today, ive looked through the help sections but i cant get rid of them Crying or Very sad

Can anyone help me on this please.

I have the adds set to no !!!

I had it set so only guests saw the ads then once u were logged into the forum they were gone.

But now im in the same boat as you guys, I got a big banner ad across the top of my forum and it makes the whole thing look crappy. If this is a new thing that is manditory then it would have been good to be informed.

it was set so that damn ads show only for my guests not for the members
staff !!?? could you please reply us how to get rid of them ? Smile

Do only way to get rid of ads in your forum and only show it in guests only is this:

admin panel>general>configuration>set "Text Ads" to "Guest">then save it.

But that can only be done when the glitch is gone. So lets just hope they can fix it as soon as possible. Wink

I think we need to be patient and wait for an announcement by Typlo. If you can read, it says "But that can only be done when the glitch is gone."

I have been told to ask my question here by dotDavid, so here it is...

Hiya folks I have had this Google Ad on the top of my forum (Not the flags) for the last 2 weeks or so, I think it was added by Forumotion? can anyone tell me do I have to keep this in view of all? I don't mind it for guests, can anyone give me a definitive answer regarding all the Ads that are put on our forums by Forumotion inc all the possible options and how to ?

I do hope the Admins are sorting this out and it isn't just heresay.

I logged on to my forum at 10.50 AM today and I am not happy with the blatent ads visible to my members and staff.

If Forumotion are well aware of a problem that affects all our forums, and they are currently working on it, then the courtesey of an official Announcement would be appreciated!

I have just made an official Admin announcement to members of my forum:

You may have noticed an Advertisement Banner at the top of this forum, which has suddenly appeared today.

Forumotion (the people that provide the forum/server) have, by stealth, introduced banner adds in our forum for members to see.

Previously, only guests could see the banner ads.

The ads are now there permanently, messing up the look of this forum, and I am unable to remove them.

I am angry about this, but there is nothing I can do, sorry.

I hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of this forum.

I think my members deserve to be told, even if forumtion do not consider giving the forum Admins an official announcement.

Typlo's reply in another thread suggests that the ads are here to stay.
