Re: Modify/Save post...new message
No this is one of the newest features. It's actually a very good one.
If you are composing a message and someone else is composing one at the same time, and posts before you do, this message will come up letting you know that another post has been made since you started to write your reply.
You can scroll down to view what the newest post is before posting yours. This helps save duplicate posting, of two ppl saying the same thing. Then you have the choice to either go ahead with your post (save), edit (modify) it before you post or decide not to post it.

I'd rather not have it on my forum, as do all of my members. Is there an option to turn it off, because if not there should be.

Re: Modify/Save post...new message
So far I have not seen anywhere to turn it off as of yet. The update came today along with a lot of others, so there have been changes and additions to the ACP. I think I have found most of them myself, but so far not this one.
Maybe it is still in the works, I don't know. But so far, I can't find any way to change it.
They are working on the tutorials for the new features, so maybe that might explain it, when it comes out. Or maybe someone else has figured it out.
Me personally, I am gonna keep it. I have used it on other forums, and most ppl love this feature. It becomes very useful. And it only takes a second to click Save to go thru with posting.

Re: Modify/Save post...new message
I FOUND it! Each member can turn it on or off in the preferences of their profiles!
Re: Modify/Save post...new message
skittles you are a star! well done for working that out, i was searching the whole admin panel for that option
Re: Modify/Save post...new message
I found it at YOUR forum! I was editing my profile after registering for your forum, trying to figure out why I couldn't add an avatar, so I was checking all the settings and that is where I found it.
I also found the friend or foe and the Draft settings there as well.

Re: Modify/Save post...new message
Mine won't save for some reason. I click no and it goes back to yes. Some of my users get it to work and some don't. They should make the default option for this set to "no"

Re: Modify/Save post...new message
Thanks for the information on how to turn off this annoying feature, but it doesn't work on my forum.
As Brandon (above) has found, if you set it to "no" and click save, it just resets to "yes".
I don't like the feature and nor do my members. I'd the option to turn it off, please.

Re: Modify/Save post...new message
LOL skittles, chances of that i am wondering if this is still being worked on as i am sure it wasnt there yesterday which could be why it isnt working right yet but it will do. If it isnt sorted by tomorrow i will move this post to in need of a tech
Re: Modify/Save post...new message
Actually, even though the selection goes back to "yes", it still disables the message. So as long as you select "no", the option gets changed, even if it says it doesn't
