IP Help

I have banned an IP address of a former friend who has been using my site in attempts to close it down and I have banned her IP but she keeps going back to my site since I opened it in April, how can I prevent her and her other so called mates from her site from getting into my site?

This has been going for a long time and despite my forum being private, yet she gets in and accuses my members of all sorts of topics which are not even on the site..

Hi this may help a little

Ban the ip address and the Email address

Then make it so you the Admin has to ok there accounts and not the members. this will stop them getting in to your forum without your say so.

Also ban there user names that way when they go to log in with that name there find there banned..

The problem is if they are using a proxy server then this is a big problem you can not really ban there ip address as it will change all the time but you could do a range ban on the ip address this is done by the same way as a norm ip ban but the last 2 or 3 numbers put it like this 234.235.*** this will ban any ip address that starts with the first numbers ..

I don't know and the claims against my members have been abusive and death threats and the one who started it all has been accusing me of doing this to her forum but I haven't since she kicked me and her members are threatening my site and members.

Keep banning the users, without having a conversation with them to encourage them so that they trouble you more. If they see you are getting annoyed & troubled, they would do it more.

I have been doing that since the abuse statrted and they even said that they would issue a notice to here about it and get it taken down.

Nothing can be taken down, if you follow the Terms of Service of Forumotion

If you feel that they are breaking our ToS, or any French, or International Law, please, file a complaint and someone from our Litigation Team will be able to follow it up and take any necessary actions.

I've had same problem with one person in particular who goes on proxy and makes several accounts. Btw "the one who started it all has been accusing me of doing this to her forum but I haven't since she kicked me" In the future I would be careful about doing that to another persons forum. Maybe it would e best if you went to that forum and tried to talk it over with them.
