how do i make a link view as text

hi, i have made a forum on my website ,but i don't want it to be shown on my homepage, so how do i put a link on my homepage, but
it is viewed as text, example: forum:video games, i want, if i click on "forum:video games" it will be a link but not shown as a link , so if i click on it the forum, video games will come up, please could somebody help me, thanks luke,

Your question is hard to understand.

From what I can understand your asking if a you can make a link on your forums, so that when you click on the forum "video games" it sends you to an other site. Is this what you are asking?

If so:

Go to your Administration panel
Scroll down to the bottom where you will see a link saying "Old Version" Click on that.
Look for "Forums"
Click on "Management" under "Forums"
Under your pages main title look for "Add a link".
In the drop down box under "Add a link" choose "Forum" and then hit "Add a Link"
In the "Title" bar add that sites name in this style:

<a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a>

For the link to a website change the "www.google.com", but keep the "http://". And where it says "Google", have it say what you want, "Video Games"

And thats how it is done!

Also you can changed the permissions if you wish.

But that is how it is done.
